Move Forward Bolton

Move Forward Bolton is the name of the Mental Health Day Services Partnership, This partnership was formed in 2008 between Bolton’s established and valued services and has come together to deliver variety and choice of accessible services, ensure responsiveness to service user demand and work with the people based on their individual needs and aspirations, to support and promote recovery.


MhIST, the Mental Health Independent Support Team was set up in 1992 with the specific aims of providing a friendly and confidential service to support and voice the interests of mental health service and their carers.

St.Georges provides friendship, support and stability in a therapeutic and caring environment for people suffering from mental health problems.

Active Choices

The service offers one to one support to access social, educational, health and exercise activities in the local community. The team also delivers a range of group activities in both mental health and mainstream settings. It is a recovery-based service with an emphasis on enabling people to explore their choices and opportunities.

Bolton Employment Support Team (BEST)

Bolton Employment Support Team (BEST) supports people with severe and enduring mental health problems in their recovery process by opening up the world of work through work preparation and placement experience.

Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)

Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group, In April 2013, Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will take over from NHS Bolton, the local primary care trust, and will be responsible for buying health services for local people.

1 Point Bolton

1point is a collaboration of voluntary and third sector organisations, who each have a proven track-record in supporting people with mental health problems in Bolton. 1point’s members have more than 120 trained and professionally qualified counsellors and therapists from a wide spectrum of organisations.
