Central Forum

The Central Forum was developed by BAND at the beginning of 2012 as a replacement to the Take it to the Top Forums. At Take it to the Top, senior figures from within Bolton Mental Health Services were asked to attend and answer questions from service users and carers about developments in Services.

The Central Forum enables service managers, commissioners,  service users and carers to discuss issues and instigate consultations on topics that would affect mental health service users in Bolton. There have been some interesting discussions since it started, looking at issues such as Rapid access cards, Home Based Treatments and Bed Closures. Minutes are avaible at the bottom of this page.

BAND recently partnered more closely with Bolton HealthWatch to extend the range of contacts for the group and to recruit their expertise in looking at the effectiveness of health services in general.

The Forum is open to anyone with an interest in being involved in discussions about the services they angage with. BAND actively supports anyone who would want to be involved in the service user voice movement and one off-shoot from facilitating the Central Forum is the Making Involvement Meaningful (MIM) Events.

The Central Forums are held every six weeks at venues around Bolton. For more information about it please contact BAND, or email:
