Weekenders aim is to provide a safe environment, activities, learning opportunities, and a social outlet for people experiencing mental health issues, especially at weekends which is sometimes the worst time of week for some people.
We are a user led group, which means we hold regular Member's meetings to decide on important and not so important issues within the Drop-In.
We offer a listening ear, the staff and volunteers are here to listen to any problems you may be experiencing. And if appropriate point you in the direction for help.
At the moment we are offering soup and toast, but we soon will be able to offer full two course meals.
Some of the activities we provide include:
- Creative Writing
- Calligraphy
- Arts and crafts
- Quizzes
- Scrabble
- Board Games
- Pool
- Table Tennis
- Computing and internet access
- Trips
As we are open at weekend we are sometimes the first point of contact for people in crises, This also includes bank holidays and Christmas Day, Boxing Day etc.
