Our aim is to provide a safe environment, activities, learning opportunities, and a social outlet for people experiencing mental health issues.
We are a user led group, which means we hold regular Member's meetings to decide on important and not so important issues within the Drop-In.
We offer a listening ear, the staff and volunteers are here to listen to any problems you may be experiencing. And if appropriate point you in the direction for help.
Each day we provide a two course meal along with drinks and snacks, at a good price. On special occasions we also put on a buffet or special meal, such as a Christmas Dinner or a curry day etc.
Some of the activities we provide include:
- Bingo
- Quizzes
- Relaxation sessions
- Scrabble
- Board Games
- Creative Writing
- Assertiveness and confidence building classes
- Indian Dancing lessons
- Internet access
Last year we were given £4750 from The Awards For All. This money was used for an arts and crafts project on Tuesdays.
Some of the activities in the art group has included a chess set made from stone powder, a mosaic and sone powder hand and face sculptures.
We often hold fund raising events such as Jumble Sales and Fares etc. Last year we raised over £200 which went towards subsidising trips out.
The trips we have provived include:
- Chester Zoo
- Blackpool
- York
- Southport
- Widermere
- And many more
We also go on an annual weekend away (photos), last year we went to ambleside in the lakes. It was a very relaxing holiday, enjoyed by all.
